Ingredients:

  • ½ cup İpek coarse bulgur
  • 10-12 dried figs
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 5-6 cloves
  • 2-3 pieces of cardamom
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of walnuts
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preparation:

Put the figs in a pot with plenty of water and put it on the fire. When the water starts to boil, remove from the fire and let it cool. Boil a glass of water in a pot. Add the bulgur and cinnamon. Cook until the water is absorbed. Stir in the butter. Remove from the fire. Fry the sesame seeds and chopped walnuts in a pan without oil for 2-3 minutes and add to the bulgur. Remove the figs from the water. Cut the bottom of each fig about 2 centimeters with a knife. Fill the figs with the bulgur mixture. Arrange the figs in a pot, leaving the cut side down. Cover with a plate. Take 2 ladles of the figs’ boiling water and pour it into the pot. Add the crushed sugar, cloves, and cardamom to the pot. Cook over low heat until the figs absorb all the water. Remove from the fire. Let it rest in the pot for a day. Place on a serving plate. Serve cold with plain ice cream or clotted cream. Bon appetit!
